November 4, 1937 – July 4, 2019

Judith Anne Demaree, 81, received her freedom and went to be with Jesus in paradise on July 4^th, 2019.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Delton George Demaree. Beloved Wife, Mother, Sister, Aunt, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Friend. Survived by all she loved; her sons Michael Ellis and David Demaree, daughters Linda Bennett, Stephanie Hughes and Debra Demaree. Four grandchildren Joshua, Christina, Justin, Alyssa and her six great-grandchildren.

She loved to play the piano and the guitar for God, a prayer warrior for those in need, adored her family and took care of those who were sick.  She cheered for the Colts and called family fans to yell out “Touchdown!” She loved her sister’s Jane and Jean, and all of their children. She loved live music and to go dancing with Jane. She loved Jean who met her at the gates of paradise and more then likely said

“What took you so long?”

Revelation 2:10   Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; ….be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.

Romans Chapter 5: 3-4 And not only [so], but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope:

As we celebrate life and weep for those who have passed over remember that they have only moved on to Paradise. When Jesus hung on that cross, sinless, blameless, and bore the sins of the whole world in between two criminals, and one of the criminals asked Jesus to remember him when He comes into His kingdom – Jesus told him that he would be with Him in Paradise ( for the simple act of faith for believing in Him).

My mother taught me to fight for what I believe in, to search for truth in places where darkness hides, to seek God with all my heart because there is everlasting peace and hope in doing so. She constantly reminded me to forgive those who have wronged me which isn’t exactly all that easy to do. She taught me to love everyone. She taught me to serve others and put others needs before my own. She set a corner stone within me and written there the name of Jesus. She taught me to be bold and taught me truths when I was born. She showed mercy and kindness to everyone which I pray that I can do the same. She cherished all and lived her life serving others.

She has taught me the greatest lesson this year that she could ever teach and that is to never give up. Keep fighting the good fight even when you do not feel good, and even in her passing. Her spirit is a spirit of a warrior. A battle proven general who would not give in or give up. She loved her King of Kings, the Lord Jesus Christ.

As we remember Judy, and honoring her; she would say to all of us – Forgive each other. Forgive the people who have wronged you. Forgive those who have hurt you. Forgive. It is not the easiest thing in the world to do but once you find that forgiveness – then enters peace. She would want you to find that peace because in that peace is God. She would tell us to love one another. Be humble and be joyful. Weep for a time but then rejoice; I fought the good fight and I am with the Jesus in Paradise.

One of her favorite movies was the Gladiator (Russel Crowe) and one of her favorite parts was at the very end after Crowe had died. One of the gladiators said as he was burying two wooden figures in the sands of the coliseum that had belong to Russel Crowe, “ ..I will ..see you again, but not yet..”

With this final goodbye, We honor the woman that was my best friend, my rock, my confidant and my teacher. She was a warrior for God, an officer in His army who fought the good fight even till her last breath. We will forever gaze into the heavens to imagine her in paradise wearing her crown of glory. Come as you are to rejoice as we celebrate her life.

Mom, I will see you again, but not yet and… now ..my watch ends.

Funeral service will be at 1:30pm on Thursday, July 11, 2019 at Indiana Funeral Care, 8151 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, IN 46250. Visitation prior to service from 10:30am to 1:30pm. Entombment to follow at Washington Park East Cemetery.
